Ms. Kaitlyn
Teacher

About Ms. Kaitlyn

Hello! My name is Kaitlyn, and this is my first year teaching in my own classroom. I have recently graduated from Winona State University and accepted a position here as an E2 teacher. My degree is in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood Emphasis and Middle Level Math minor. Before graduation, I student-taught in a 4th grade classroom and in a 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math classroom. Though I have just graduated in the spring of this year, I have already begun classes to learn the Montessori teaching method. I am excited to continue my learning in Montessori education because the beliefs and practices on learning resonate with my own.

I live here in Winona with my family. My children’s names are Jayla (7) and Adonis (4). They have been so patient while I finished school and pursued a career. While living in Winona I have worked at the YMCA in multiple positions working with children of all ages. In my free time you can find me reading, looking for agates, or attending family friendly activities. I am so elated and grateful to be a part of Bluffview Montessori and get to know it’s community!

Ms. Cindy
Assistant

About Ms. Cindy

Hello, My name is Cindy Gerdes. I am very excited to be returning to a Montessori classroom as a classroom assistant after 15 years in family daycare. I look forward to assisting Ms. Kaitlyn in creating an inspiring, peaceful learning environment and sharing my love of science and reading with our students.

I live in rural Winona county with my husband Neil and my dog Scout.  I love kayaking, camping, swimming and just about anything outdoors. My two favorite pastimes are spending time with my grandchildren and children and gardening. My grandchildren and I have started a small business called Gerdes Grands Garden, combining my two favorite things to do.  I look forward to this coming school year and getting to be part of the Bluffview community and our classroom community.
