About Ms. Amy

Hello! I have taught in E2C since fall 2017. I graduated from Winona State University in May 2016 with a degree in Elementary Education and a Middle School Math minor. I started at Bluffview as a long-term Children’s House substitute in late January 2017. I was brand-new to Montessori education but quickly fell in love with it! I accepted the E2C position later in the spring and began my Montessori training program that summer. It has been quite the adjustment, but one I have loved making!
Originally I am from a small town in southeastern Wisconsin called Twin Lakes (right by Lake Geneva). I moved to Winona when I started college in 2012, and was thrilled that this town has a movie theater and TWO bowling alleys! Now that I have been here for several years, it feels very much like home and I am tremendously grateful to be working at this wonderful school with such a supportive community.
Some of my favorites: yellow and purple, dogs and pelicans, word puns, and hot chocolate.

About Mr. Johnson

Hello all! This is my first year at Bluffview. I graduated from Winona State University in December 2019 with a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I am  brand-new to Montessori style of education but from what I have read and researched, it fits my beliefs and style of teaching. I look forward to getting to know all the students, staff, and parents, as well as working closely with Ms. Amy!

I grew up on a farm in rural Kasson, MN. I graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School in 2010. I then wrestled on scholarship after high school. I moved/transferred to Winona in 2012 and fell in love with the town. Shortly after moving to Winona, I started a job at Home & Community Options and continue to work there 9 years later. I am an avid college football and college wrestling fan. GO GOPHERS! I love the colors baby blue and matte black. My favorite animals are moose and cows. And my favorite foods are smoked pulled pork and pho. (Pho is a Vietnamese soup dish consisting of broth, rice noodles, herbs, and meats.)
