Welcome to Bluffview Montessori’s E2C page!

About the classroom

We are a classroom community of students in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grade.  The teaching and support staff include teacher, teacher assistant, and a paraprofessional.  We have two parakeets named Kiwi and Rio.

Ms. Amy

About Ms. Amy

Hello! I have taught in E2C since fall 2017. I graduated from Winona State University in May 2016 with a degree in Elementary Education and a Middle School Math minor. I started at Bluffview as a long-term Children’s House substitute in late January 2017. I was brand-new to Montessori education but quickly fell in love with it! I accepted the E2C position later in the spring and began my Montessori training program that summer. It has been quite the adjustment, but one I have loved making!
Originally I am from a small town in southeastern Wisconsin called Twin Lakes (right by Lake Geneva). I moved to Winona when I started college in 2012, and was thrilled that this town has a movie theater and TWO bowling alleys! Now that I have been here for several years, it feels very much like home and I am tremendously grateful to be working at this wonderful school with such a supportive community.
Some of my favorites: yellow and purple, dogs and pelicans, word puns, and hot chocolate.

About Ms. Melonie

Hello, my name is Melonie Harris. This is my first time being in a Montessori classroom and I am excited
to learn more about Montessori education. I am currently attending Western Governors University for
elementary education. I look forward to being part of the E2 team as Ms. Amy’s classroom assistant.

I live just outside of Winona with my dog Ember. Previously I worked at Ridgeway Community School
where I worked with children in their after-school and summer care programs working with children
ages 3-12. In my free time I love to be outside camping, hiking, riding ATVs, or swimming in a lake with
my dog. I am so grateful to be a part of the Bluffview Montessori community.
