Board Ballots will be sent home Wednesday, April 14, in your student’s folder.  Please return as soon as possible.

After School Activities grades 5 and 6

The Winona Middle School has activities starting on Monday, April 12, for 5th & 6th graders.  The deadline to sign up is Friday, April 9th.  Please call Michelle at 507-494-1060 with any questions.

Explorers of the Week

Two of the many students demonstrating virtues this week: 

Brenna McIlrath is a 3rd grade student of Ms. Molly’s E1B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of helpfulness when she helped others in the art classroom. Brenna’s favorite work in the classroom is the checkerboard, and she loves Bluffview because of the teachers.  Brenna’s favorite activity when she is not in school is playing outside, especially in a creek or pond.  Brenna is the daughter of Phil & Jessica McIlrath.

Kayleen Stoos is a 3rd grade student of Ms. Molly’s E1B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of helpfulness when she helped others in the art classroom. Kayleen’s favorite work in the classroom is chains, and she loves Bluffview because there are a bunch of people to play with.  Kayleen’s favorite activity outside of school is to swim.  Kayleen is the daughter of Josh & Tammi Stoos.

Congratulations Jillian Macon!

Congratulations to 8th grader Jillian Macon for earning the Graduate Women in Science Award at the Minnesota State Science Fair for her project The Effect of Fat Content on Ice Cream Melt Rate!  Great job Jillian!

Explorers of the Week

Two of the many students demonstrating virtues this week: 

Rylee Douglas is a 5th grade student of Ms. Speltz’s E2B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtues of excellence and responsibility when he received a positive review from a sub, and because he is always reliable and responsible. Rylee’s favorite subjects in the classroom are math and language, and he loves Bluffview because he gets to see his friends, he meets new people, and he learns a lot.  Rylee’s favorite activities when he is not in school are playing outside and gaming.  Rylee is the son of Dan Douglas & Karen McCormick.

J J Mullen is a 1st grade student of Ms. Molly’s E1B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtues of kindness & friendship when he joined a friend who was upset and sat talking and comforting him. J J’s favorite subject is math, with the thousand chain being a favorite work, and he loves Bluffview because of gym class.  J J’s favorite activity outside of school is to play with his aunt at his grandpa’s house.  J J is the son of Joseph & Molly Mullen.
