Mission: We pursue this vision through a distinctive Montessori approach embodying individualized instruction, mixed age groups, an international curriculum, a prepared environment, and Montessori teaching materials.
The Evaluation Process:
As stated in MN charter school law (124D.10), it is the responsibility of the BOD (Board of Directors) to evaluate the School Director’s job performance, hereafter to be referred to as HOS (Head of School). The six sections of this evaluation are required by law, and must all be completed. This evaluation will be filled out by each member of the Board of Directors individually. Those members will then compile their results into a cumulative form, to be presented to the Head of School in a closed meeting. The HOS may request that the evaluation be presented at an open meeting.
Information shall be gathered for this evaluation process through the administering of a parent/family survey, a staff/climate survey, the personal experiences and observations of the Board members, and through an interview with the Head of School. Surveys will be disseminated in April to staff and parents via email by the HOS. The administrator interview should be conducted one week before the evaluation meeting, so members can complete the evaluation form. HOS should maintain adequate records to answer questions as necessary.
Each area will be ranked on a 4 point scale. There may be items that you may not have enough information or experience to rate. If that occurs, please check the box “NI.” Sources that can be used as information tools include but are not limited to: Staff surveys, Family surveys, Administrator interviews, or Board Member experience.
This evaluation will directly correlate to the HOS job description. The HOS will use this evaluation as a tool for the development of professional growth goals, which will be presented back to the BOD for discussion and approval.
This evaluation is to be performed annually in the spring, and presented to the HOS no later than June 30th of the current school year. The HOS professional development goals should be presented to the Board before classes resume in the fall.
