Explorers of the Week
Two of the many Bluffview Montessori Students demonstrating virtuous behavior this week:
Elliot Norman is a 2nd grade student in Ms. Kiersten’s E1B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtues of kindness and helpfulness when he stopped in the hall at the end of the day to help a preschool student zip up their raincoat. Elliot’s favorite work in the classroom is the multiplication board, and he loves Bluffview because of the works and because there are no desks. Elliot’s favorite activity outside of school is playing video games, especially Fallout 76, and he wants to be a gamer or real estate developer when he grows up. Elliot is the son of Susan Norman.
Harper Plein is a preschool student in Ms. Anna’s CH3 classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of safety consideration when she showed good safe decisions by always making sure no friends were on the slide before she slid down. Harper’s favorite work in the classroom is non-cylinders, and she loves Bluffview because she gets to see her friends. Harper’s favorite activity outside of school is playing at home, and she wants to paint nails when she grows up. Harper is the daughter of Lindsay Kammerer and Brian Plein.

Explorers of the Week
Two of the many Bluffview Montessori Students demonstrating virtuous behavior this week:
Evan Sanders is a 3rd grade student in Ms. Mariah’s E1C classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of reliability because he always brings his books back on time and always makes good choices in library. Evan’s favorite work in the classroom is equivalent fractions, and he loves Bluffview because he can meet new friends. Evan’s favorite activity outside of school is playing outside. Evan is the son of Joanna Sanders.
Aaron Szepi is a 1st grade student in Ms. Mariah’s E1C classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of responsibility when he worked hard to get his work done independently. Aaron’s favorite work in the classroom is beginning and end blends, and he loves Bluffview because of the works and recess. Aaron’s favorite activity outside of school is going for a walk, and he wants to work at Winona Health when he grows up. Aaron is the son of Cassidy and Shawn Szepi.

Apply to be a Japan Ambassador – Info Meeting May 2 or 4
Students entering grades 8 – 10 in the fall can apply to be a Japan Ambassador! Informational meetings will be held on May 2nd and 4th. More information can be found here: Apply to Be a Japan Ambassador

Ready Set School
The application period for assistance from Ready Set School is now open from April 15 through May 31. This program assists Winona County students in purchasing school supplies and clothing for the 2024-2025 school year. Families with children and teens entering kindergarten through grade 12 in Winona County in Fall 2024 that qualify for food support, housing/rent subsidy, and/or TANF benefits are eligible to apply. Only one application per family is required.
After completing the free application, vouchers are mailed to families in July. The vouchers are valid through September 15 at local participating retailers. Applications are online only at www.readysetschoolwinona.org/
apply. If you do not have access to the internet, computers are available at the Winona Public Library (winona.lib.mn.us) or the St. Charles Public Library or contact the Ready Set School Director, at readysetschool@gmail.com. Posted On: April 18, 2024

Xavier (Xay) Mangum is a 4th grade student in Ms. Amy’s E2A classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of helpfulness when he offered to help clean up a classmate’s spot. Xay’s favorite subject in the classroom is science, and he loves Bluffview because of the really nice staff. Xay’s favorite activities outside of school are playing the nintendo switch, watching tv, watching his fish, and playing with his cats. He wants to be a YouTuber or work at the Georgia Aquarium when he grows up. Xay is the son of Daddio & Tiffany Mangum.
Willa Tillinghast is a Kindergarten student in Mr. Josh’s CH1 classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtues of commitment and friendliness when she focused on her work plan all week and helped peers when they needed it. Willa’s favorite work in the classroom is sewing line, and she loves Bluffview because there are a lot of new people to meet. Willa’s favorite activity outside of school is playing outside with her friends, and she wants to be a singer and play the guitar when she grows up. Willa is the daughter of Emily & Nathan Tillinghast.
