One unique aspect of the physical education program at Bluffview is that part of the instruction occurs in small groups; the low student-teacher ratio in these small groups allows the instructor to offer more individualized attention to each student. Kindergarten students participate in physical education class once a week for thirty minutes. Elementary students participate in half-hour physical education classes three times a week. Erdkinder students participate in 40-minute long physical education classes twice a week.

About Mr. El

Born and raised inner City of Chicago (Northside)
White Sox, Bears, Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, are my teams to root for, but I love sports overall!
My beautiful wife, Samijo, is all about fitness and Personal Training – serving those and inspiring many to achieve physical fitness success.
I love to debate with her about the term “Gym”- in my world, it involves a court and basketballs; in her world, lifting and fitness equipment. Together we have 2 young beautiful girls, but altogether we have 4 amazing children aging from 16 years of age to the young and restless 4 year old – she gets into everything :)
I have lived in Winona my entire adult life. I came to Winona to attend St. Mary’s University of MN where I earned my BA in Business Management. To further my pursuit of self knowledge and leadership, I attended online courses and graduated with an MS degree in Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University-GC.

I have found that the most enlightening question I have been asked is “Are you using your degrees”? and my answer is, “Yes, I am”. I encountered Phys Ed. by coaching youth sports at the local YMCA, where many students know me as Coach El. I also Co-Founded a youth program known as WABO where I volunteered most of my time coaching and mentoring young basketball players.

As a senior high school Varsity basketball player, I started for De LaSalle Institute basketball team where we embraced success as Regional Champs in 2001. Grateful year!

As a Husband, father, and coach, I believe God has shifted my thoughts and my path to provide service to those around me, helping those in need believe that they too can achieve success in small or large amounts. I have always helped those in need whether it was basketball, as the driver of a fundraiser, or genuine volunteer efforts giving back to the community in which I am a part of. I love to share my life’s story and hear stories from others. I’m glad to serve you!
