Explorers of the Week
Two of the many students demonstrating virtues this week:
Brahm Van Fossen is a 2nd grade student of Ms. Kiersten’s E1B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of self-discipline when he chose to jump into work mode as soon as he got to school. Brahm’s favorite work in the classroom is the multiplication board, and he loves Bluffview because all the teachers are really nice. Brahm’s favorite activity outside of school is reading. Brahm is the son of Jeff & Marcy Van Fossen.
Virginia Cyert is a 6th grade student of Ms. Amy’s E2C classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtues of service and helpfulness when they volunteered to take chairs down in art. Virginia’s favorite subject in the classroom is science, and they love Bluffview because of the teachers and because there is no homework. Virginia’s favorite activities when they are not in school are playing minecraft and playing with their dog. Virginia is the child of Andrea & Matt Cyert.

Explorers of the Week
Two of the many students demonstrating virtues this week:
Rylan Wicka is a kindergarten student of Ms. Katie’s CH2 classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of helpfulness when he used teamwork to clean up nap items. Rylan’s favorite work in the classroom is sink and float, and he loves Bluffview because of the name. Rylan’s favorite activity outside of school is watching tv. Rylan is the son of Lauren Stanislawski and Christopher Hilliard.
Callen Kinneberg is a 2nd grade student of Ms. Amy’s E1A classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of helpfulness when he took time to help break down PE equipment. Callen’s favorite work in the classroom is Land and Water Forms, and he loves Bluffview because of recess. Callen’s favorite activity when he is not in school is playing with legos or plus plus blocks. Callen is the son of Katie and Craig Kinneberg.

Reminder – Monday, January 31, is Deadline for Intent to Return forms and New Student Applications
January is an important time for enrollment for Bluffview Montessori School for the 2022-2023 school year. Forms were sent home early January. All forms can also be found on the website here. Parents need to complete one of the following forms for each of their children:
- Students entering grades 1-8 (presently in grades Kindergarten through grade 7) – complete and return the “Intent to Return Form” by January 31, 2022. These should be completed if you plan to return OR if you plan to transfer schools for the 2020-2021 school year. This will help determine the number of spots available open to new applicants during our lottery in early February.
- STUDENTS ENTERING KINDERGARTEN – COMPLETE AND RETURN THE “CHARTER SCHOOL APPLICATION FORM BY JANUARY 31, 2022 TO BE INCLUDED IN THE LOTTERY IN EARLY FEBRUARY. THE APPLICATION FORM MUST BE COMPLETED FOR ALL STUDENTS ENTERING KINDERGARTEN!
- Students who are already attending the three year old program and who want to return for the 2022-2023 school year – complete and return the “Children’s House Intent to Return Form” by January 31, 2022.

Luca Siemback is a preschool student of Ms. Katie’s CH2 classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of helpfulness when he shoveled the CH1 patio. Luca’s favorite work in the classroom is counting bears, and he loves Bluffview because he can shovel snow. Luca’s favorite activity outside of school is playing trains. Luca is the son of Erin & Jonathan Siemback.
Quinn Wangberg is a 6th grade student of Ms. Kaitlyn’s E2B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of reliability when he picked up the materials in the brass section after band. Quinn’s favorite work in the classroom is doing projects for culture, especially on the history of countries, and he loves Bluffview because of the freedom to choose what he can work on and because there are lots of hands-on and interactive activities. Quinn’s favorite activities when he is not in school are being outside and reading. Quinn is the son of Aaron & Robyn Wangberg.

Archery
Mr. El will be offering archery in PE starting the week of January 24 and an archery club that begins January 29 for 4 – 8 graders. Permission slips were sent home last week. Permission slips must be turned in by January 24 in order for students to be able to participate in archery during PE. You can also click below for the permission slip.

Arianna Springer is a 3rd grade student of Ms. Mariah’s E1C classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of responsibility when she demonstrated to the entire class how to behave, follow instructions, and show sportsmanship. Arianna’s favorite work in the classroom is prefixes, and she loves Bluffview because of everything. Arianna’s favorite activity outside of school is playing with her dog. Arianna is the daughter of Chuck & Crystal Springer.
Willow Tomesh is a 2nd grade student of Ms. Amy’s E1A classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of responsibility when she demonstrated to the entire class how to behave, follow instructions, and show sportsmanship. Willow’s favorite subject in the classroom is math, and she loves Bluffview because of lunch. Willow’s favorite activity when she is not in school is playing outside with her friends. Willow is the daughter of Lauren & Cory Tomesh.
