MN Ski Areas Offering Free Lift Tickets for 4th Graders
The Minnesota Ski Areas Association (MNSAA) and its members are offering a 4th Grade Passport which offers free lift tickets for the passport holder. Our goal is for families to enjoy winter, have fun and stay healthy together.
All Minnesota Ski Areas are participating. The cost of the Passport is $34.95 (includes tax, payment processing fee and administrative costs of program), your 4th Grader receives an e-pass which includes a minimum of 2 free lift tickets for the Passport holder at each Minnesota ski area.

Winona Area Youth Wrestling
Who: Any boy or girl in grade 1 – 8 who is interested in learning how to wrestle and have fun doing it.
What: A program designed to introduce and enhance wrestling skills as well as improve coordination and motor skills. The sport of wrestling incorporates athletic movement shown to improve performance in many other sports.
Where: Warrior Warehouse – Located on the west side of the Winona Mall in the space formerly occupied by The Batter’s Box.
When: We will meet every Wednesday from 4:45 to 6:00 beginning on January 5 and finishing at the end of March.
Why: Our goals are to:
- Learn the basics of wrestling
- Get some great exercise
- Have Fun!
How Much: The cost is $25 for the season. Scholarships are available. First two practices are free for any boy or girl who would like to give wrestling a try.Questions, concerns, or suggestions can be directed to: Bill Schmidt at 454-5277 or williamaschmidt@yahoo.com.

10 Days of Giving – last day!
Our organization is proud to be participating in the 33rd Annual 10 Days of Giving food drive this year, coordinated by Merchants Bank. The 10 Days of Giving benefits Winona Volunteer Services and works to make sure no one in Winona County goes hungry each winter.
There are many opportunities to support the food drive between December 1-10. We hope you’ll consider contributing, as you are able, by:
- Dropping off food donations in the barrels located inside the entry way at Bluffview.

Explorers of the Week
Two of the many students demonstrating virtues this week:
James Mullen is a 2nd grade student of Ms. Kiersten’s E1B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of helpfulness when he helped a friend finish a map puzzle for a peer. James’s favorite work in the classroom is the one hundred board, and he loves Bluffview because he gets to work with Ms. Pat. James’s favorite activity outside of school is playing with hot wheels at Grandpa’s house. James is the son of Joseph & Molly Mullen.
Isabelle Katwa is a 5th grade student of Mrs. Kaul’s E2A classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of perseverance when she worked hard on math everyday. Isabelle’s favorite subject in the classroom is geography, and she loves Bluffview because of it’s small size and that you can get places quickly. Isabelle’s favorite activities when she is not in school are playing soccer and playing with friends. Isabelle is the daughter of Melissa Mansfield & Lance Ngari.

Congratulations Izzy & Halia!
Congratulations Izzy and Halia for being winners of the “Hands are for” competition! Their artwork will be displayed on the billboard next to Winona National Bank from December 6th, 2021 to January 2nd 2022.
Winona County students, third grade through high school, participated in the Annual Winona County Primary Prevention Project (WCPPP) “Hands are for …” poster art competition. Over 300 entries from Bluffview Montessori, Lewiston-Altura Public Schools, St. Martin’s Lutheran School, Ridgeway Community School and Winona Area Public Schools participated. 5 of the 6 winners (grades 3-8) are from Bluffview! The other 3 pieces will be shared next week.

Explorers of the Week
Juliet Bublitz is a 1st grade student of Ms. Kiersten’s E1B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of self-discipline when she worked super hard and got 3 works done and signed off. Juliet’s favorite work in the classroom is the one hundred board, and she loves Bluffview because of the excellent lunches, especially orange chicken. Juliet’s favorite activity outside of school is going to the farm and having a sleepover with her dad. Juliet is the daughter of Carly Johnson & John Bublitz.
Aundra Aarre is a 7th grade student of the Erdkinder classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of responsibility when she demonstrated to the entire class how to behave, follow instructions, and show sportsmanship. Aundra’s favorite subject in the classroom is science, and she loves Bluffview because she gets work time so she doesn’t have to take all of her work home. Aundra’s favorite activities when she is not in school are doing crafts and playing softball & tennis. Aundra is the daughter of Anna & Darrek Aarre.
