Two of the many students demonstrating virtues this week: 

Oliver Kohn is a 2nd grade student of Ms. Molly’s E1B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of diligence when he worked very hard on a USA map for 3 days. Oliver’s favorite work in the classroom is bead bars, and he loves Bluffview because of all the good lunches.  Oliver’s favorite activities when he is not in school are bike riding, reading, and playing with legos.  Oliver is the son of Liberty Kohn & Erica Thibodeaux.

Millie Omdal is a 4th grade student of Ms. Musehl’s E2A classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of cleanliness when she went the extra “mile” for clean-up in art class.  Millie’s favorite subject in the classroom is science, and she loves Bluffview because of the teachers and staff members.  Millie’s favorite activity when she is not in school is to go boating and do stuff on the river.  Millie is the daughter of Paul & Christy Omdal.

The Winona Middle School has activities starting on Monday, April 12, for 5th & 6th graders.  The deadline to sign up is Friday, April 9th.  Please call Michelle at 507-494-1060 with any questions.

Brenna McIlrath is a 3rd grade student of Ms. Molly’s E1B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of helpfulness when she helped others in the art classroom. Brenna’s favorite work in the classroom is the checkerboard, and she loves Bluffview because of the teachers.  Brenna’s favorite activity when she is not in school is playing outside, especially in a creek or pond.  Brenna is the daughter of Phil & Jessica McIlrath.

Kayleen Stoos is a 3rd grade student of Ms. Molly’s E1B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of helpfulness when she helped others in the art classroom. Kayleen’s favorite work in the classroom is chains, and she loves Bluffview because there are a bunch of people to play with.  Kayleen’s favorite activity outside of school is to swim.  Kayleen is the daughter of Josh & Tammi Stoos.

Congratulations to 8th grader Jillian Macon for earning the Graduate Women in Science Award at the Minnesota State Science Fair for her project The Effect of Fat Content on Ice Cream Melt Rate!  Great job Jillian!

Rylee Douglas is a 5th grade student of Ms. Speltz’s E2B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtues of excellence and responsibility when he received a positive review from a sub, and because he is always reliable and responsible. Rylee’s favorite subjects in the classroom are math and language, and he loves Bluffview because he gets to see his friends, he meets new people, and he learns a lot.  Rylee’s favorite activities when he is not in school are playing outside and gaming.  Rylee is the son of Dan Douglas & Karen McCormick.

J J Mullen is a 1st grade student of Ms. Molly’s E1B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtues of kindness & friendship when he joined a friend who was upset and sat talking and comforting him. J J’s favorite subject is math, with the thousand chain being a favorite work, and he loves Bluffview because of gym class.  J J’s favorite activity outside of school is to play with his aunt at his grandpa’s house.  J J is the son of Joseph & Molly Mullen.

Four 8th graders, Nathaniel Balci, Keeli Meyer, Erica Ruppert, & Chase Van Fossen, along with staff Kim Bell & Olivia Van Den Berge, have been working hard putting together the 2020-2021 year book.  And what a year it’s been!  The 2020-2021 yearbook is $21 per book.  You can order online at https://forms.gle/6Fd92az8n4PyKKPn6, or by printing the Yearbook Order Form, filling it out, and sending it back to school.  A paper order form will be coming home next week with your student(s).  The deadline to order is May 3rd.

No School: There is no school or meal pick-up on April 2nd or April 5th.

Erdkinder: Erdkinder students are returning to full in-person learning on Thursday, April 8th.  April 6th and April 7th will be Erdkinder staff prep days, so there will be no school for Erdkinder students.  All other grades will attend.

Morning Arrival: Teachers do not arrive until 7:15.  Please drop students off after this time.

Breakfast: If students want breakfast in the morning, please have students here before 7:40.
