E2 Students Put a New Twist on Traditional Native American Clothing

E2C students, Lydia Lippman and Tabitha Mulkey, found a creative way to reproduce a Native American deerskin skirt by using dry leaves and a hot glue gun!  The clothing was used as part of their report on the bartering system that was used by many Native American tribes historically.

    BBQ Thank You

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

We can’t say it enough – thank you to all who supported the Back to School Barbecue last night! Whether your support was ‘behind the scenes’ or joining us for the food and fun, it was appreciated. Thanks too, for your patience and understanding with our slightly delayed start.

Maria Montessori stated, regarding the child, “The things he sees are not just remembered; they form a part of his soul.” It was a beautiful evening to celebrate the beginning of another school year and spend time with our Bluffview Community replenishing our souls. The children playing, the quiet conversations, the laughing around the tables, people offering help to one another, students hard at work, but also hardly working at times so they could partake in the fun, the sunset — all forming images to see and remember.

The donations provided (above cost) help lower Erdkinder field trip expenses. Getting out in the community is a valuable part of our program because it gives students access to the world around them and a variety of learning activities, styles and opportunities. The barbecue helps make some of that more accessible. Thank You.

‘When the child goes out, it is the world itself that offers itself to him. Let us take the child out to show him real things…”  -Maria Montessori
