Explorers of the Week
Two of the many Bluffview Montessori Students demonstrating virtuous behavior this week:
Annabele Moyer is a 4th grade student in Mrs. Kaul’s E2A classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of responsibility when she followed classroom expectations. Annabele’s favorite subject in the classroom is math, and she loves to play with her friends at Bluffview. Annabele’s favorite activity outside of school is going to her mom’s house, and she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Annabele is the daughter of Sarah Moyer.
Willow Tomesh is a 5th grade student in Ms. Tori’s E2C classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of responsibility when she showed great leadership skills during move up day and always has a good attitude. Willow’s favorite subject in the classroom is reading, and she loves that she gets to work with kids in a bunch of grades at Bluffview. Willow’s favorite activities outside of school are track and playing with her friends. Willow is the daughter of Cory & Lauren Tomesh.

Ready Set School
The application period for assistance from Ready Set School is now open from April 15 through May 31. This program assists Winona County students in purchasing school supplies and clothing for the 2025-2026 school year. The eligibility requirements are: a student entering grades K through 12 in a Winona County school and who qualifies for one or more of the following services- food support, TANF benefits or housing subsidy. Only one application per family is required.After completing the free application, vouchers are mailed to families in July. The vouchers are valid through September 15 at local participating retailers. Applications are online only at www.readysetschoolwinona.org/

Briar McIlrath is a 5th grade student in Ms. Tori’s E2C classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of service when she helped set up her classroom after school. Briar’s favorite subject in the classroom is language, and she loves that all the core classes are within one classroom at Bluffview. Briar’s favorite activity outside of school is going outside and riding her bike. Briar is the daughter of Jessica & Phil McIlrath.
Sebastian Esser is a preschool student in Mr. Joshua’s CH1 classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of patience when he paused to say “excuse me” to get past someone. Sebastian’s favorite work in the classroom is all of them, and he loves that Bluffview has the “biggest playground”. Sebastian’s favorite activities outside of school are to play soccer, eat, and play and he wants to be a spaceshipper when he grows up. Sebastian is the son of Daniel & Kaitlin Esser.

Cameron Schroeder is a 1st grade student in Ms. Amy’s E1A classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of responsibility when she sat quietly and patiently awaited instructions. Cameron’s favorite work in the classroom is minus A, and she loves the teachers at Bluffview. Cameron’s favorite activity outside of school is riding her bike around the park. Cameron is the daughter of Liz & Matthew Schroeder.
Marcus Webb is a preschool student in Ms. Anna’s CH3 classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of service when he helped willingly to pick up equipment. Marcus’s favorite work in the classroom is the pickle work, and he loves going on field trips at Bluffview. Marcus’s favorite activities outside of school are to play and watch tv, and he wants to play football when he grows up. Marcus is the son of Marcus Webb, Cassandra Scanlan & Tyler Harshman.

James Kammerer is a preschool student in Mr. Joshua’s CH1 classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of diligence when he scrubbed the table in the classroom. James’s favorite work in the classroom is animal matching, and he loves practicing tornado drills at Bluffview. James’s favorite activity outside of school is playing hide and seek with his brother, and he wants to help people when he grows up. James is the son of Brooke & Jason Kammerer.
Benjamin (Ben) Strangstalien is a preschool student in Mr. Joshua’s CH1 classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of cleanliness when he scrubbed the table in the classroom. Ben’s favorite work in the classroom is the fish puzzle, and he loves to play outside with the other kids at Bluffview. Ben’s favorite activity outside of school is to play lion king, and he wants to be a paleontologist when he grows up. Ben is the son of Jason & Kathryn Strangstalien.
