Student Data Privacy

STUDENT DATA PRIVACY
MN Statutes 13.32 Subd. 1 – Modifies student data privacy protections by defining a “school-issued device”, and “technology provider”, the requirements on schools to notify parents and students of any programs or contracts with technology providers that deal with student data; the rules that technology providers must follow regarding student data, and what student data government agencies, and service providers cannot access or monitor.

Explorers of the Week
Two of the many Bluffview Montessori Students demonstrating virtuous behavior this week:
Jacob Kugel is a 1st grade student of Ms. Mariah’s E1C classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of determination when he stopped what he was doing to work on forming numbers he struggled with so he could learn them better. Jacob’s favorite subject in the classroom is math, and he loves Bluffview because of the teachers. Jacob’s favorite activity outside of school is playing Pokemon with his brother, and he wants to work for a bank when he grows up. Jacob is the son of Abigail & Brian Kugel.
Emmery Wobschall is a Kindergarten student of Mr. Josh’s CH1 classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of helpfulness when she went back to help a friend leave the playground with their class. Emmery’s favorite work in the classroom is the lid work and she loves Bluffview because she gets to talk to her friends. Emmery’s favorite activity outside of school is playing on her tablet, and she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Emmery is the daughter of Corbin and Samantha Wobschall.

Busing
As you may know, WAPS provides busing for Bluffview Montessori students in grades K-8. Like last year, you only have to sign up for busing if you meet one of the following criteria:– Your child is new to Bluffview and needs busing– Your child is not new to Bluffview but didn’t use busing last year– Your child used busing last year but you need to make changes (ie: address)– Your child used busing last year but does not need it this year (terminate)Please click on the link below to sign up for busing or to submit changes to your busing schedule or route:If your child utilized busing last year and you have no changes to make, there is nothing you need to do; your registration will automatically update.Please call the WAPS Transportation Department at 507-494-0810 with any busing questions.
