    Greeting MCA Families!

    Happy Summer.

    As we all transition into the new pace of summer, it’s time to think about lessons and camps!

    Our summer camps are filling up. The time to register is now!

    • Winona Arts Camp for 6-9 Year Olds: July 28 – August 1
    • Winona Arts Camp for 9-12 Year Olds: Aug. 4 – August 8

    Do you have a student studying or starting an instrument? Summer lessons make a huge difference in technical skill and confidence. We offer private lessons in all band instruments, strings, piano, and voice.

    We are very excited to partner with the Winona Arts Center to bring Mozart’s: The Return of King Idomeneo to the front lawn of MCA on August 23rd at 4:00PM.

    We are VERY excited to announce our upcoming performance seasons through 2027.

    • November 2025 – A Holiday Celebration of the Arts, Celebrating Holiday Traditions
    • Spring 2027 – We will put on a Storybook Production inspired by the writings of Hans Christian Andersen. (An opportunity for all departments to create an interdisciplinary show.)
    • Winter 2027 – We will put on a full-length story ballet, The Nutcracker

    Planning for next year already? Enrollment will open on July 1st, but while you are waiting, we will start posting class information (days & times), as it becomes available, on our website. Follow us on FB or Instagram for reminders when registration opens.

    Explorers of the Week

    Embyr - Bluffview Montessori School

    Two of the many Bluffview Montessori Students demonstrating virtuous behavior this week:

    Embyr Fabian is a 6th grade student in Mrs. Kaul’s E2A classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of responsibility when she focused and worked hard on tasks and set an example for others. Embyr’s favorite subject in the classroom is science, and she loves that everyone is really nice at Bluffview. Embyr’s favorite activity outside of school is playing video games, and she wants to be a vet when she grows up. Embyr is the daughter of Ashley Afman & Dusty Hoffman and Adam Fabian. 

    Sophia Thomsen is a 6th grade student in Mrs. Kaul’s E2A classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of helpfulness when she picked up materials left on the floor that were not hers and put them away.  Sophia’s favorite subject in the classroom is culture, and she loves the way Bluffview is set up. Sophia’s favorite activities outside of school are hanging out with friends and playing volleyball, and she wants to join the military when she grows up.  Sopha is the daughter of Max Ruff & Missy Ingham.

    Band Concert next week!

    The band concert will be May 22 at 5:30 pm in the community room.  Students need to be at Bluffview by 5:15 pm. A school matinee performance will be at 1.

    Explorers of the Week

    Eleanor Johnson - Bluffview Montessori School

    Two of the many Bluffview Montessori Students demonstrating virtuous behavior this week:

    Eleanor Johnson is a 2nd grade student in Ms. Kiersten’s E1B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of service when she helped her classmates tidy the classroom. Eleanor’s favorite subject in the classroom is Greater Than/Less Than, and she loves that there are choices at Bluffview, as well as no desks and that she can move around. Eleanor’s favorite activities outside of school are biking and gardening in the summer, and sledding and building a snowman in the winter.  Eleanor wants to be a farmer when she grows up. Eleanor is the daughter of Aaron & Christine Johnson.

    Callie Erlandson Reed is a 4th grade student in Ms. Zahrte’s E2B classroom who was recognized this week for displaying the virtue of flexibility when she changed positions in kickball during PE to help teammates.  Callie’s favorite subject in the classroom is math, and she loves the staff at Bluffview. Callie’s favorite activities outside of school are karate and gymnastics, and she wants to be a therapist when she grows up.  Callie is the daughter of Cassie & Josh Eggert and Chad Erlandson.
